They are like acrylic paints but have left almost no feel or ‘hand’ on the fabric. <br /><br />And what better than soft indigo dyed cotton. All time favourite. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/08/08/118.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/08/08/s_118.jpg' border='0' width='186' height='280' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />- <br /><br />Made this angrakha style top. In love with this print, color and cloth ( but it bleeds so much I get blued every time I wear it!!!! ). <br />It took me a long time to decide what to do with the ties. Made small thread tassels and sewed them on. <br /><br />I made a princess seam pattern from my own size top pattern and this was designed based on that. <br />This was so much fun to do!<br />Nice armholes and neck. There are still few things I could have done better like <br />- the place where the cross over part of the inner part joins the seam is pulling on the seam. <br />- the v neck line doesn't lie flat on the front. <br />The princess seam seems a little bit high. <br /><br />Can't think of any more but next time I'll try to do better. <br /><br />Still wearing it right now and loving it. And for a change hubby dear liked it too! <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/08/08/119.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/08/08/s_119.jpg' border='0' width='241' height='280' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />Made this shirt last week. Looooove the fit. And of course the color! This I made with the shirt pattern block I made. This is I think the best block I've made so far. Not much tweaking to be done. Just trace cut and sew.. Still got lots of work on my collar skills though. Made a white shirt based on the same pattern. That came out pretty well too. <br />Happy. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/08/08/120.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/08/08/s_120.jpg' border='0' width='145' height='280' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br />Ok. Another lovely cloth. Indigo dye block print. Red piping. <br />Pallazo style pants with short simple sleeveless blouse. <br />So comfy to wear. <br />Messed up a little with the neck line though. I'm still struggling with the bias bound curves. <br />I'm trying. One day I'll get it right. <br /><br />Quiet a lot of bluing goin on? Well maybe next time I'll try to focus on some other color. <br /><br />So long......<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone<br />Vinniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12945312436603981449noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7381390676740308666.post-11216343364504412092015-07-13T12:11:00.001+05:302015-07-13T12:11:32.957+05:30In between.....<br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/12/483.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/12/s_483.jpg' border='0' width='186' height='280' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />Crochet lace and cotton embroidery on white linen bracelet <br /><br /><br />- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone<br />Vinniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12945312436603981449noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7381390676740308666.post-31408391028326929612015-07-10T17:04:00.001+05:302015-07-10T17:04:09.968+05:30Back.....again!<br />Ok<br />Years and years later I come back!<br />I almost forgot I had a blog!!!<br /><br />What about my tatting?<br />Well, though I'm still carrying around a shuttle and thread in my purse, but, not tatted much lately. <br /><br />In exchange the Sewing bug caught me! <br />I used to sew clothes when I was in school. Basically my mom used to cut and I used to help her out sewing and embroidering on the suits or nighties or whatever we made. It was fun. <br />I always wanted to sew my own clothes, but I had no idea how to transfer my ideas to clothes or make patterns.<br /> I decided I wanted a sewing machine for myself. I asked for it as a birthday present this time. My husband was like "ARE U CRAZY?"<br /><br />Ya!!!! <br />So I have a beautiful Singer with me now. (Husband gets a Ducati for his Birthday and I get a sewing machine for mine! Not that I'm complaining!!!!!)<br />At this moment 'are you crazy' was such and understatement!!!<br /><br />I've gone super crazy!!! Cutting cutting cutting and cutting more!<br />Paper, cloth, newspaper......<br />Whatever I can find. I've tried drafting my slopers in any which way I could lay my eyes and hands upon. I joined a local sewing class and learned from the local tailor. Ya, she did teach me the basics, but that was not enough. It did not satisfy my hunger enough. <br /><br />Now that I've learnt a little, I can now see clothes in a different light altogether. I've started noticing things like plackets, necklines, fitting, styles, collars ( believe me I was on the seventh sky when after nth times sewing and ripping out a simple collar, I got it right!!)<br /><br />I've come to notice that my tailor was making me wear actually shitty (Sorry, but that's what some of them were) clothes. The fit was BAD. <br /><br />Not that I'm doing a great job, but atleast I know!<br /><br />I design, make a pattern, cut and sew only to know WHAT A BLUNDER.....MAN!!!<br /><br /><br />Wanna see some things I've made....<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/10/69.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/10/s_69.jpg' border='0' width='132' height='280' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Linen top with crochet button placket and linen pants. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/10/70.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/10/s_70.jpg' border='0' width='112' height='280' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Georgette top with crochet neckline<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/10/71.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/10/s_71.jpg' border='0' width='160' height='280' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /> Cotton eyelet lace top with linen panel skirt. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/10/73.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/10/s_73.jpg' border='0' width='186' height='280' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Cotton top with yoke. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/10/74.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/10/s_74.jpg' border='0' width='129' height='280' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Cotton kurta and salwar. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/10/75.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/10/s_75.jpg' border='0' width='186' height='280' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /> Round neck yoke top<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/10/76.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/10/s_76.jpg' border='0' width='142' height='280' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Cotton patiala salwar suit for me<br /><br />I'm now perpetually tired, sleepy, achy and IN A HAPPY STATE OF MIND!<br />If you know what I mean?<br /><br /><br /><br />- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone<br />Vinniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12945312436603981449noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7381390676740308666.post-48593393481284630422013-10-31T11:07:00.001+05:302013-10-31T11:11:31.607+05:30On my needles.....Leafy Vest<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/10/30/2080.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/10/30/s_2080.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/10/30/2082.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/10/30/s_2082.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />Zeeman Super soft yarn I bought from Amsterdam.....~3 yrs back! <br /><br />Circular needles. Going on.....<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/09/17/895.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/09/17/s_895.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />4. Still going on...!!...<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/09/17/898.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/09/17/s_898.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />At this stage I was going bonkers with all the thread and the knots😖<br /><br />Pretty much because I did not anticipate the amount of thread length I needed and I had to add on a lot of thread as I went along. <br /><br />5.AT LAST.....😌<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/09/17/899.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/09/17/s_899.jpg' border='0' width='187' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /> After burning my fingers and a lot of huffing and puffing I closed the bottom and .... And.... I'm done. <br /><br /><br />Maybe, I'll add a handle..... Or a sling.......<br /><br />Maybe, I'm not done😉!<br /><br /><br />- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone<br />Vinniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12945312436603981449noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7381390676740308666.post-62564756817304571182013-08-14T16:49:00.001+05:302013-08-14T17:10:53.981+05:30Monastral Bracelet<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Macrame, crochet, tatting,bead crochet, beading- brick stitch flowers and leaves, Russian leaves and embroidery.........</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<center>
<a href="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/08/14/237.jpg"><img border="0" height="162" src="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/08/14/s_237.jpg" style="margin: 5px;" width="281" /></a></center>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
All put together in this bracelet. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<a href="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/08/14/238.jpg"><img border="0" height="210" src="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/08/14/s_238.jpg" style="margin: 5px;" width="281" /></a></center>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
-this is how it started out- little amethyst stones wrapped in macrame knots with little macrame leaves. Then I was trying out a brick stitch flower and leaves which got added. Now can there be anything prettier than tatted flowers......</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<center>
<a href="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/08/14/239.jpg"><img border="0" height="210" src="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/08/14/s_239.jpg" style="margin: 5px;" width="281" /></a></center>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'd thought of adding a macrame base but it would have taken a lot of time and would have been difficult to sew the stuff on, so made a simple rectangular crochet base......</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<center>
<a href="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/08/14/240.jpg"><img border="0" height="186" src="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/08/14/s_240.jpg" style="margin: 5px;" width="281" /></a></center>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And sewed on everything one by one. 😊</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<a href="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/08/14/241.jpg"><img border="0" height="172" src="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/08/14/s_241.jpg" style="margin: 5px;" width="281" /></a></center>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had lots of trouble thinking and trying out how to put a lock for the bracelet. Once the loops were made, couldn't decide what to use for the toggle. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
At last I decided to use these simple beaded beads for the lock. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<a href="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/08/14/242.jpg"><img border="0" height="241" src="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/08/14/s_242.jpg" style="margin: 5px;" width="281" /></a></center>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Finished with a little bead embroidery with crystals and beads. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm happy with what I did with my time the last week or so I took to make this bracelet.😀</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<a href="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/08/14/245.jpg"><img border="0" height="186" src="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/08/14/s_245.jpg" style="margin: 5px;" width="281" /></a></center>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Why the name MONASTRAL? </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Well that's the name of the shade of the blue thread used....</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What else would you have called it? </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Amethyst garden? Blue fairy Garden? Midnight blue? </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Maybe I'll give it a new name if you suggest some........</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Everything other than tatting!After tatting those bracelets, the ones in the last post, I think I had an overdose of tatting and related issues. Now for some overdose of OTHER kinds!<br /><br />Got new spools of thread- Polyamide thread. Nylon. It's awesome to work with and I had to start some Macramé project with it. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/07/17/736.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/07/17/s_736.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />One of my friends asked me for a bracelet and it had to be a macramé one. <br />Tatting is too delicate for a man's hand, I think!!!<br /><br />But, Instead of making some for him,I ended up making some for myself! <br /><br />Here are the two bracelets I made. <br /><br />The yellow one is done in a different thread and I'm still in the process of getting to cradle a stone. The knots I think are too loose. I pondered a lot on the type of clasp and ended up putting a lock. Well.....<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/07/17/737.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/07/17/s_737.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='229' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/07/17/738.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/07/17/s_738.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='210' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/07/17/739.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/07/17/s_739.jpg' border='0' width='231' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />This one was done with the new threads. I finished it yesterday and wore it with my blue Saree today. <br />It's so much easier to manage the ends with this Nylon thread,<br /><br /> burning them up!<br /><br /> Aaaaaah!!! <br /><br />First time I did it and ITS FUN!!!<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/07/17/740.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/07/17/s_740.jpg' border='0' width='220' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/07/17/742.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/07/17/s_742.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/07/17/744.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/07/17/s_744.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />Now getting back to what I started all this for- the bracelet for a MAN!<br />I chose a bloodstone Jasper and some black thread and black beads. This is how far I got today. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/07/17/745.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/07/17/s_745.jpg' border='0' width='281' height='181' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /> <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/07/17/746.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/07/17/s_746.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />NO. NO. NO<br /><br />NOT RIGHT. <br /><br />OVERDOSE. OVERDOSE<br /><br />OK. <br /><br />So, got onto some bead crochet.<br /> It was so relaxing after all that knotting and 'not righting'. <br />To just endlessly and mindlessly keep crocheting those little beads and they'd fall in their rightful places on their own! <br /><br />Made this pretty little bracelet. <br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/07/17/747.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/07/17/s_747.jpg' border='0' width='210' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/07/17/748.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/07/17/s_748.jpg' border='0' width='258' height='281' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />I think I'll gift my dear friend 'THIS' bracelet and tell him to gift it to his girlfriend! Her happiness will take care of all the rest. <br /><br />What Say???<br /><br />My fingers need some rest now. Then I came across the class on the online tatting classes and had to get down to it.<br />It is different from the regular tatting that I'd been doing but I'm so liking it. Clear and Blue<br />
Black and Silver<br />
Wore them today with my blue saree.<br />
I like the look of these bracelets. So easy and fast to make and delightfully bright to wear. <br />
I'm off to making some more with beads, crystals and stones. Lets see. I'll keep you posted. <br/><br/><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JUTcLayIUJ4/UVrO0air-JI/AAAAAAAACVU/9rH_Oh77UoI/s640/blogger-image--684577479.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-JUTcLayIUJ4/UVrO0air-JI/AAAAAAAACVU/9rH_Oh77UoI/s640/blogger-image--684577479.jpg" /></a></div>Vinniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12945312436603981449noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7381390676740308666.post-74783690165928636752013-04-01T10:41:00.001+05:302013-04-01T10:41:02.597+05:30Tatting DayHappy Tatting Day to all my friends in TatLand!<br />
<br />
Made this little tatted bouquet today<br />
( actually yesterday, put it together today!)<br />
The flower is simple rings, no joins, nothing. But the leaves are 'special', if I may call them that! <br />
Well, I tried making leaves, in one go, and thought of using Single Shuttle Split Rings. All three are done differently, going up then down, or going up and up, if you know what I mean. <br />
There must be, infact are, better ways to make leaves, but I thought of this. <br />
Do tell me what you think of them! <br />
Happy tatting day once again. Enjoy. <br />
Luv. <br />

I found Overlaying tatting with small beads pretty stressful! <br />
This was just a doodle on my note pad. I made the base motif and then added two more layers of tatting. Added crystals after the tatting and I got this....... <br />
<br />
And I made little earrings with the leftovers. <br/><br/><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-El-tS_qAtWE/UT1kER-mlZI/AAAAAAAACTs/DJhnqYeyIrE/s640/blogger-image-1726126729.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-El-tS_qAtWE/UT1kER-mlZI/AAAAAAAACTs/DJhnqYeyIrE/s640/blogger-image-1726126729.jpg" /></a></div> <br/><br/><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-w4LSjhYV-TA/UT1j-yq0tWI/AAAAAAAACTk/0XZ9h2c7UCc/s640/blogger-image--1536628157.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-w4LSjhYV-TA/UT1j-yq0tWI/AAAAAAAACTk/0XZ9h2c7UCc/s640/blogger-image--1536628157.jpg" /></a></div> <br/><br/><div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-yc2zr0lYcBk/UT1kJoXAgAI/AAAAAAAACT0/qLtF1qK5ykE/s640/blogger-image--1967676945.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-yc2zr0lYcBk/UT1kJoXAgAI/AAAAAAAACT0/qLtF1qK5ykE/s640/blogger-image--1967676945.jpg" /></a></div>Vinniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12945312436603981449noreply@blogger.com4
